Master Chief Banovz, a native of Elburn, Illinois, enlisted in the United States Navy in June 2008. Following completion of basic training at Recruit Training Command, Great Lakes, Illinois he reported to Naval Training Center, Great Lakes, Illinois where he completed Apprentice Technical Training and Fire Controlman "A" School. Upon graduation, he reported to Aegis Training and Readiness Center for COTS FCS/400Hz "C" School.
July 2009, he reported to USS PINCKNEY where he served as the LPO of CF Division. During his time he completed two Fifth Fleet deployments, and one Seventh Fleet deployment. He qualified Enlisted Surface Warfare Specialist and was advanced to Petty Officer Second Class and Petty Officer First Class.
July 2015, Master Chief Banovz transferred to CSCS Unit Great Lakes where he served as Course Manager and N7 DLCPO. During this tour he qualified Master Training Specialist and advanced to Chief Petty Officer and Senior Chief Petty Officer.
October 2018, he attended Aegis Weapon Supervisor course at ATRC in Dahlgren, and Combat Systems Maintenance Manager course in San Diego, CA. He is a graduate of the Senior Enlisted Academy Class 224 Blue Group.
July 2019, Master Chief Banovz returned to USS PINCKNEY, serving as CSMM and CS DLCPO. During his tour he completed a Fourth Fleet and a Seventh Fleet deployment. He qualified Tactical Action Officer and Enlisted Aviation Warfare Specialist and advanced to Master Chief Petty Officer. In August 2022, he transferred to USS PRINCETON (CG 59) where he served as CSG 1 Integrated Maintenance Planner. During his tour he completed a Seventh Fleet Deployment and qualified as Force Tactical Action Officer.
May 2024, he attended DEOMI Equal Opportunity Advisor Course 24-2 at Patrick Space Force Base, Florida. After graduation he reported to COMMANDER, NAVAL FORCES EUROPE & AFRICA and is currently serving as the Fleet Climate Specialist.
Master Chief Banovz holds an Associate in Applied Science Degree in Applied Computer Studies from Thomas Edison State University. His decorations include Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal (5 awards) and Navy Marine Corps Commendation Medal (3 awards), and various unit and campaign awards.
