The National Chief Petty Officers Association (CPOA) operates on an annual membership year that runs from April 1 to March 31.
All members, regardless of their join date, renew on April 1st — the Chiefs’ Birthday.
This means that if you join partway through the year — even in March — your membership will still renew on April 1st. This system ensures all members are on the same renewal cycle, which simplifies administration and aligns with our founding date.
Your first-year dues not only activate your membership but also cover the cost of your engraved challenge coin, Plankowner certificate, lapel pin, shipping, and a portion of our administrative expenses. These items are part of your welcome package and are ordered and distributed once membership processing is complete.
While your initial membership period may be shorter if you join late in the year, you still receive full Plankowner recognition and all the welcome materials that come with being part of our founding membership class.
We apologize for the delay! Our Membership Committee Chair now has the member coins and lapel pins and is organizing them for shipment, which we expect to begin within the next week. We are also finalizing a plan to distribute the outstanding Plankowner certificates. Additional updates will be shared via a member email as details are confirmed.
We’re always looking for members who want to take an active role in shaping the future of our Association. Whether you’re interested in serving on a committee, helping with events, supporting outreach efforts, or lending your professional skills to our mission, there’s a place for you to make an impact.
If you’d like to get involved, please complete our Member Involvement Form using the link below:
Once submitted, a member of our leadership team will reach out to match your interests and availability with current opportunities.
Together, we can strengthen the legacy of the National Chief Petty Officers Association — one member at a time.
